Churches, Charities, and Beto O'Rourke with Terry Feix

This week during the CNN LGBTQ town hall, Beto O'Rourke said he would strip churches, charities, schools, and their religious organization of their tax-exempt status if they wouldn't adhere to the progressive vision of marriage and sexuality. While he may be an outlier in American society, his comments raise important issues for believers. Why do we believe that churches should be tax exempt?
